Edited by Audun J. Strype at Strype Audio, Oslo, Norway.

Comments: Our debut release, a six track seven inches forty-five rounds per minute vinyl record from one of the world's greatest record companies, That's Entertainment Records. This was the last vinyl record ever to be cut in Norway. "The Final Cut"is engraved into the record.

Tales From The Basement record coverTales from the Basement
Mini LP
Screaming Apple Records, Germany (SCALP 107)
July 1994

Side A:
Teenage Frustration (E.Pinås)
Can't Get You Back (M.Husvik/O.Olsen)
I'm In Love (U.Larsen/N.Olsen/O.Olsen)
Better Be Going (E.Pinås)
Drivin' My Car (U.Larsen/N.Olsen/O.Olsen)

Side B:
Weird Boy (E.Pinås)
Bad Baby (E.Pinås)
Ba Pa Pa (F.Larsen/O.Olsen)
My Baby Left Me (U.Larsen/N.Olsen/O.Olsen)
I Want You (M.Husvik/U.Larsen/N.Olsen/O.Olsen)

Credits:
Produced, engineered and mixed by Kai Andersen at Athletic Sound studio, Halden, Norway.
Edited by Audun J. Strype at Strype Audio, Oslo, Norway.

Comments: This mini album was originally supposed to be a ten inch record. When Richie at Screaming Apple realized that printing a ten inch cover was three times as expensive as printing a twelve inch one, it turned into an ordinary twelve inch anyway... Speaking of the cover, the artwork by Merinuk is worth the price of the record by itself! The music's not bad either, though. The album was "marketed" by doing a mini tour with The Kwyet Kings and The Yum Yums around southern Norway, Germany and Belgium.

R.Ø.L.P. record coverR.Ø.L.P. - Live at Halden Studentkro 1992-94
CD
Norcri Records, Norway (4H R001)
Autumn 1994

The Basement Brats are featured with the following tracks:
Paranoid (F.Larsen/O.Olsen)
Ba Pa Pa (F.Larsen/O.Olsen)
Protex Blue (Strummer/Jones)
Elephant Fly (M.Husvik/O.Olsen)

Credits:
Produced by the Basement Brats, engineered and mixed by Ole-Petter Buckholm at Studentkroa, Halden, Norway.
Edited by Johan III and Nordbø at Studentradio'n, Halden, Norway.

Comments: A compilation album consisting of live recordings from the semi-annual R.Ø.L.P. festival in Halden. The bands playing at the festival are mostly bands put together just for the occasion, of greatly varying musical quality, and consisting mainly of students with residence in Halden. We appeared at the first two shows in 1992. The recordings on this album is taken from the first one. We had just lost Kåre, our first lead guitarist and were quite drunk as well (but definitely in a good mood).

Jailbait record coverJailbait
EP
Demolition Derby Records, Belgium (DD 021)
July 1995

The Basement Brats are featured with the following track:
Sticks and Stones (Turner)

Credits:
Produced, engineered and mixed by Kai Andersen at Athletic Sound studio, Halden.

Comments: This EP, released by Belgian Demolition Derby, featured among other bands a Brats cover version of the old Zombies smasher, "Sticks and Stones" - an out-take from the "Tales from the Basement" sessions.

Semaphore '95 record coverSemaphore '95
CD
Semaphore, Belgium (PROMO 001)
Autumn 1995

The Basement Brats are featured with the following track:
Weird Boy (E.Pinås)

Credits:
See "Tales From The Basement".

Comments: A promo CD released by the Belgian distribution company Semaphore, featuring 16 songs by 16 bands from 16 different record companies in 7 countries on 3 continents... "Weird Boy" was Screaming Apple's contribution.

The Bratbeat CD record coverThe Bratbeat
CD
That's Entertainment Records, Norway (THEN 027 CD)
February 1996

Feel All Right (U.Larsen/O.Olsen)
Ordinary Guy (E.Pinås)
Here We Are Nowhere (Fingers)
Girl Of Mine (E.Pinås)
Just Can't Help It (M.Husvik)
It's So Nice (E.Pinås)
Anything At All (N.Olsen/O.Olsen)
What Can I Do? (E.Pinås)
You've Got Me Shaking (N.Olsen/O.Olsen)
Get Down (M.Husvik)
Can't Go On (E.Pinås)
She Said (M.Husvik/O.Olsen)
Couldn't Care Less (N.Olsen)
Time Out (E.Pinås)

Credits:
Produced, engineered and mixed by Kai Andersen at Athletic Sound Studio, Halden, Norway.

Comments: Fourteen songs packaged in a big budget production (one hundred studio hours - to compare, the 25 songs on "Curse of the Brats" were recorded and mixed in about thirty hours in all). But it was to be the original Basement Brats' swan song. Also available on LP (see below).

Shining Down record coverShining Down
Single
Sneakers Records, Norway (SNEAK 2)
March 1996

Side A:
Shining Down (E.Pinås)

Side B:
It's Not The Right Time (U.Larsen)
Disconnected Love (M.Husvik)

Credits:
Produced, engineered and mixed by Kai Andersen at Athletic Sound studio, Halden, Norway.
Edited by someone at Strype Audio, Oslo, Norway.

Comments: Three good songs released on Tom-Erik "Trash" Kristoffersen's label Sneakers Records. Although it was released after "The Bratbeat" (actually on the day of the release party), it was actually recorded prior to it and is not half as "slick."

The Bratbeat LP record coverThe Bratbeat
LP
Screaming Apple Records, Germany (SCALP 111)
March 1996

Side A:
Feel All Right (U.Larsen/O.Olsen)
Ordinary Guy (E.Pinås)
Here We Are Nowhere (Fingers)
Girl Of Mine (E.Pinås)
Just Can't Help It (M.Husvik)
It's So Nice (E.Pinås)
Anything At All (N.Olsen/O.Olsen)
What Can I Do? (E.Pinås)

Side B:
You've Got Me Shaking (N.Olsen/O.Olsen)
Get Down (M.Husvik)
Can't Go On (E.Pinås)
She Said (M.Husvik/O.Olsen)
Couldn't Care Less (N.Olsen)
Time Out (E.Pinås)

Credits:
Produced, engineered and mixed by Kai Andersen at Athletic Sound Studio, Halden, Norway.

Comments: Fourteen songs packaged in a big budget production (one hundred studio hours. To compare, the 25 songs on "Curse of the Brats" were recorded and mixed in about thirty hours in all). But it was to be the original Basement Brats' swan song. The LP is split between songs number 8 and 9 instead of 7 and 8 like it was supposed to - just so you know that if you're listening to it... Also available on CD (see above).

Stø dei lokale pønkarane record coverStø dei lokale pønkarane - EP - Live Oslo Pønk-Råkk Festival '95
EP
Hit Me! Records, Norway (96PØNKO1)
October 1996

The Basement Brats are featured with the following track:
Lost (E.Pinås)

Credits:
Not produced, engineered or mixed. Recorded at Oslo Pønk-Råkk Festival, Råkker'n, Gamleby'n, Oslo, Norway, September 1995.

Comments: It was getting very near the end... One might ask what the by then more and more power-popish Basement Brats were doing at a punk rock festival in 1995, but there we were...

Curse Of The Brats record coverCurse of the Brats

Stay Away From My Girl (U.Larsen/N.Olsen/O.Olsen)
Fed Up (E.Pinås)
Sucker (U.Larsen)
Su!mmer Rock (F.Larsen/O.Olsen)

Credits:
Produced, engineered and mixed by Sven Olsen (1-8) and Kai Andersen at Athletic Sound studio, Halden, Norway.
Edited by Craig Morris at Strype Audio, Oslo, Norway.

Comments: With a prophetic title, this much delayed CD from the Japanese label 1+2 Records starts off with eight previously unreleased songs - including two songs by classic bands from our home town, Halden. My voice on a couple of the first songs might leave a little bit to be desired, as they were recorded directly after I'd been sick in bed for about a week and a half. But the rest is history as it continues with the ten tracks from "Tales from the Basement", the six from "Blast-Off" and finishes off with the first song we ever recorded in 1991, "Su!mmer Rock", featuring our first lead guitarist, Kåre Larsen.

Magnum is otherwise credited for: project production and direction, research, editing, occasional remastering and/or remixing, cover concept and design (inspired by Klaus Voorman), cover art (based on artwork and photography by Magnum, Cathrine Andreassen, Håkon Ohlgren and Merinuk) and sleevenotes.

Comments: Inspired by the Beatles' "Anthology" albums, this was a collection of outtakes, live recordings, demos - and a few "new" tracks. Because of various individuals' lack of a sense of humour, this release never got past a promo cassette stage. But if anyone would be interested in releasing the album and would like a free master, please do feel free to get in touch!

Live At St. Croix record coverLive At St. Croix
LP
Dead Cool Records, Norway (DC003)
Spring 1997

The Basement Brats are featured on the following track:
Do You Love Me? (?)

Credits:
Compilation produced by Esben R. Svendsen. Recorded live at St. Croix-huset, Fredrikstad, Norway.
Mastered at Strype Audio, Oslo, Norway.

Comments: From out of the grave came this collection of songs recorded live at a youth activity house called "St. Croix-huset" in Fredrikstad, Norway. Our contribution was recorded at a marvellous show in April 1994. The booklet included with the album happens to include a photo of the very last gig we ever did. We were a four-piece on that particular occasion, with Egil having gone back to hell.
